Is Six Month Smiles the right treatment for me?

Six Month Smiles is classed as a short-term, limited objectives treatment, dealing with mild to lower-end moderate complications. The appliance focuses on dealing with widely spaced teeth as well as crowding and alignment issues, more specifically where the ‘social six’ are concerned (this refers to the teeth that are most visible to others when you smile).

What are the main benefits of Six Month Smiles?

Aesthetic & bespoke – Six Month Smiles make use of discreet brace hardware such as clear brackets and tooth-coloured wires, so your smile will be minimally altered throughout the treatment period, which is particularly appealing to those who have client-facing roles. The braces are created to fit comfortably in your mouth and the components are smaller than older fixed brace models of the past, making it easier to speak.

Short treatment period – as the name suggests, Six Month Smiles treatment takes as little as six months to complete, so if you’ve got a special occasion coming up soon, you don’t have to worry about planning months and months in advance as with more conventional brace treatments.

Gentle pressure applied – despite the treatment time being very short, Six Month Smiles makes use of gentle pressure and low force to treat issues.

Cost-effective – Six Month Smiles is a cheaper alternative to clear aligners, traditional braces, therapy and veneers.

What can I expect from the treatment process?

We will invite you to the practice for an initial consultation to determine whether Six Month Smiles is the right way forward for you. We will then schedule a follow-up appointment for you where we will take digital impressions of your teeth in order to have a model to work from for the design of your bespoke braces and brace hardware.

Once we have the impressions of your teeth, these can be sent away and your brace can be created by the dental lab. Once these have been sent back, we can fit you with the braces and treatment can begin. You will need to visit us throughout the treatment period so we can keep an eye on your progress and after the brace-wearing period is complete, you will need to wear a retainer to prevent your teeth from shifting out of position.
