Brace designs have come a long way since the days of unsightly and clunky metal brace types; this has triggered a rise in the number of adults seeking to have treatment, with less invasive options available to this demographic. We have a selection of 3 brace types and invite patients to attend an initial consultation where they can talk through their main expectations and priorities during the treatment period.
Invisalign
Invisalign is one of the two removable brace options that we offer here at Cliftonville, giving patients the freedom to remove their braces to brush and eat. Patients are required to wear their custom created aligners for 22 hours each day. Invisalign aligners are made from clear plastic and are classed as an ‘invisible’ brace type, so your friends, colleagues and family may not even notice you are undergoing treatment. Their removable trait also means that by definition, Invisalign aligners do not incorporate brackets and wires into their design, rendering them much more comfortable than fixed counterparts.
Inman aligner
With an average treatment time of between 6-16 weeks, the Inman aligner is classed as a short-term treatment that tackles mild to moderate issues. Patients are often surprised to learn that the Inman aligner executes the quickest method of moving teeth, applying gentle but continuous pressure. We also recommend the Inman aligner to patients who may have suffered a relapse (their teeth shifting out of position) after a longer treatment period.
Six Month Smiles
Six Month Smiles amalgamates standard orthodontic mechanics with a highly aesthetic design and focuses on the aesthetics of your smile, particularly the teeth visible when you smile. These type of braces are popular with patients who wish to look their best for an upcoming special occasion and do not need to correct any fundamental structural/bite issues. Your teeth will also look great throughout the treatment period as the braces are fitted to your teeth with translucent brackets and tooth-coloured wires, blending in with your smile.
