Rejuvenate Your Appearance with Facial Aesthetic Treatments

Do you feel like kick-starting the new year with a rejuvenated appearance? Facial aesthetics are an increasingly popular way to revitalise your looks and boost your self-confidence. Facial aesthetic treatments are also quick and non-invasive.

We offer a wide range of facial aesthetic treatments at Cliftonville, but the three most popular choices are anti-wrinkle treatment, dermal fillers, and lip fillers. Today, we’ll take a closer look at these three procedures and how they can help you achieve a more youthful, refreshed look.

Anti-wrinkle Treatment:

Anti-wrinkle treatment, also known as Botulinum Toxin Type A or “Botox”, is a popular and non-invasive procedure designed to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines. At Cliftonville dental, we treat wrinkles with Botox® and Azzalure® injections.

Anti-wrinkle injections are a safe and effective way to improve the appearance of wrinkles caused by muscle movement and ageing when delivered by a qualified dentist, aesthetician, or medical professional.

Botox works by temporarily paralysing the muscles that cause wrinkles, resulting in a smoother, more youthful appearance. The Botulinum Toxin paralyses the muscles by stopping signals between the muscles and nerves.

This procedure is quick and relatively painless, with minimal downtime. It is typically used to treat wrinkles on the forehead, around the eyes (crow’s feet), and between the eyebrows (frown lines). The results of Botox treatment are visible within a few days of treatment, and the effects usually last between three and four months.

We can also use anti-wrinkle treatment to reduce gummy smiles by injecting the Botulinum Toxin into the upper lip muscles to decrease the amount of gum that shows when you smile. As dentists, we can fix a gummy smile in multiple ways, including anti-wrinkle injections, lip fillers, veneers, a gingivectomy, and crown-lengthening surgery.

One of the advantages of anti-wrinkle treatment is that you can combine it with other facial rejuvenation treatments such as dermal and lip fillers. This allows us to create a bespoke treatment plan to suit your needs and the desired outcome. You can also repeat this treatment 3-4 times a year. After multiple treatments, the effects of anti-wrinkle injections can last up to six months.

Facial Aesthetic Treatments

Dermal Fillers:

Dermal fillers, also known as facial fillers, are another prevalent way to rejuvenate your appearance. Instead of paralysing the muscles, this treatment adds volume to the skin, which can help reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines. We can also deliver dermal fillers to enhance the cheeks, plump the lips, and restore volume to the skin.

We often inject small controlled doses of dermal filler into the Peri-oral lines (lines between the nose and the middle of the top lip), the Nasolabial folds (nose-to-mouth lines), and the Marionette lines (mouth-to-chin lines).

Dermal fillers come in different types, and each type has unique properties. The most common fillers are hyaluronic acid fillers, such as Juvederm® and Restylane®, and Calcium Hydroxylapatite fillers, such as Radiesse®.

Hyaluronic acid fillers are a popular choice as they are safe and long-lasting. Hyaluronic acid is also a natural substance that metabolises in the body. If required, we can also easily dissolve the filler with an enzyme called hyaluronidase.

The procedure for dermal filler treatment is simple, and it typically takes around 30 minutes. The results of dermal filler treatment are visible immediately, and the effects usually last between six and twelve months, depending on the type of filler used.

Lip Filler:

Lip filler is a special type of dermal filler used to enhance the lips by adding volume and shape. This treatment can correct uneven or thin lips and add definition to the lip line. Lip fillers usually consist of hyaluronic acid, which attracts and retains water to give plump, smooth, and natural-looking lips. At Cliftonville, we inject Emervel® and Juvederm® for our lip filler treatments.

The procedure for lip filler treatment is performed in the clinic and takes around 30 minutes. Noticeable results are visible immediately, though it can take up to 21 days for any swelling and bruising to subside and the final results to reveal. The effects can last up to 6 months before they require topping up.

All of these treatments can be combined for maximum rejuvenation. But it’s essential to consult a qualified and experienced practitioner who can discuss the best options for your needs and desired outcome. Facial aesthetics can be an effective way to boost your self-confidence and improve your appearance, but it’s important to proceed with caution. Make sure to research and find a reputable practitioner who can help you achieve your desired results safely and effectively.

Final Thoughts:

Overall, facial aesthetic treatments, such as Anti-wrinkle treatment, dermal fillers, and lip fillers, are an effective way to rejuvenate your looks and boost your self-esteem. They are all non-invasive and quick procedures that require minimal downtime. Anti-wrinkle treatment paralyses the muscles that cause wrinkles; dermal fillers add volume to the skin, while lip fillers enhance the lips adding volume and shape. It’s important to consult with a qualified and experienced practitioner who can provide customised treatment options and safely carry out the procedure. With the right approach and practitioner, facial aesthetics can help you achieve a more youthful, refreshed look.
